Harper Floors Project Spotlight: Vinyl Plank Flooring Project

3 minute read

Our passion here at Harper Floors is to serve our community with the resources and expertise that we have developed over the past 25 years – sourcing, manufacturing, and providing flooring solutions to our community.

Project Details

In May 2022, we partnered with the Asian American Drug Abuse Program, Inc. (AADAP) in Los Angeles, CA to replace the flooring in their workforce training center. By advising and donating 64 boxes, approximately 1,300 square feet of vinyl flooring, the team at AADAP was able to successfully replace their floors just in time for their new workforce training program.

This flooring project used a luxury vinyl plank product now unavailable on our website. The team utilized a glue-down installation method due to an uneven subfloor, allowing an efficient installation directly on top of their existing subfloor, which was an older tile material.

Luxury vinyl plank flooring is a high-quality vinyl solution that looks like authentic hardwood. Some of its advantages make it ideal for light commercial spaces such as this one. For example, vinyl plank flooring:

  • Doesn’t warp with heat or moisture
  • Lasts for years
  • Is made of composite materials
  • Is fast and easy to install
  • Requires low regular maintenance
  • Is highly durable
  • Costs significantly less
  • Provides a timeless look

Our luxury flooring solution for this Harper Floors project spotlight gives the AADAP training center a gorgeous appearance and reliable flooring solution they can trust for years to come. While it’s no longer available on our online store, we offer many similar options available today for your own project needs.

Behind the Contribution

At Harper Floors, we understand homelessness is a rising problem across Los Angeles. Despite the available programs for homeless and low-income individuals and families, homelessness won’t cease to exist overnight. We believe that housing solutions are only the start, and there are a number of things necessary to rehabilitate and assist these community members. We donated resources to AADAP as they help homeless and low-income families and individuals affected by substance abuse with addiction recovery.

About AADAP, Inc

The Asian American Drug Abuse Program, or AADAP, is a non-profit organization. AADAP exists to change lives and save families adversely impacted by substance abuse. Substance abuse impacts many individuals and families and for this reason AADAP continues to provide a comprehensive “whole person” approach in its education, intervention, treatment, outreach, advocacy, and employment programs to the multi-ethnic communities of Los Angeles. They provide those transitioning from homelessness with the resources and tools they need to beat addiction and improve their situation. The AADAP offers individualized services for children and adults. People in the AADAP program receive direct education, substance abuse treatment, employment opportunities, job skill acquisition assistance, and comprehensive training programs. They serve nearly 20,000 clients in Los Angeles County, including Metro L.A., San Fernando Valley, San Bernardino, South L.A., Long Beach, and the South Bay.

We were excited and honored to highlight our partnership with AADAP’s West Adams WorkSource Center by donating quality flooring to create a positive, hassle-free environment for their new workforce trainees. We are proud to work with AADAP and are excited to continue working together to provide further economic relief to Los Angeles’ homeless community and disenfranchised families and individuals across the county.
