Key Features of Prefinished Hardwood Flooring: Authentic Wood, Protective Finishing, Built to Last

BENEFITS -

Made from 100% authentic wood, solid hardwood is easily ranked as one of the most durable flooring types that can last generations when properly installed and cared for. Our products are coated with superior finishes that will protect your wood flooring from wear and tear for years to come.
Engineered hardwood flooring was designed to harness the strength and beauty of real wood, while minimizing the effects of environmental fluctuations on natural wood products, constructed with a real wood veneer and a manufactured core backing.  Another key benefit of prefinished hardwood flooring is that it’s ready to go as soon as it’s installed, which means there’s no downtime waiting for the finish or additional sealant to dry.

The best part is that  prefinished hardwood flooring now comes in a wide variety of colors and styles, so you can find the perfect option for your home. Now, prefinished hardwood flooring still gives you the ability to refinish your floors should you decide on a new look years down the road.

The surface can be sanded down and a new stain and finish can be applied, just as with traditionally un-finished hardwood flooring. We would like to mention that sanding down the hardwood and re-applying a finish by hand may not garner the same results as factory finishes from the mill, however 100% doable and recommended.

BEFORE YOU SHOP -  A few things to consider when shopping for hardwood flooring are the installation procedure, natural fluctuations to changes in living conditions, and susceptibility to moisture. While the installation process is straightforward, we recommend hiring a professional with prior experience to ensure proper acclimation and subfloor preparation prior to installation. Wood flooring is a natural product and performs best in a stable home environment with consistent temperature (between 60° to 80° F) and humidity levels (between 35% to 60%). Solid hardwood flooring cannot be installed in moisture prone spaces while engineered hardwood can be installed in areas where moisture may tend to creep up, like basements, bathrooms, and laundry rooms.

Additionally wood products such as solid hardwood and engineered hardwood need to be in a temperature and humidity controlled environment.

CARE ROUTINE -   Prefinished hardwood flooring was created to accommodate busy lifestyles and withstand years of heavy traffic – naturally resilient and pre-finished with advanced, protective surface finishing. Undoubtedly a worthwhile investment and by adopting a practical care routine – cleaning up spills immediately, sweeping often, mopping with hardwood specific care products – your floors will endure more than you can imagine and remain stunning for years to come.
